La casa de José Saramago en Formentera
Lanzarote es una maravillosa isla que cuenta con museos, galerías de arte y espléndidos lugares para que te abras a sus propuestas culturales. Uno de los lugares más importantes y desbordantes que tienes que ver en Formentera, es la casa del escritor novel José Saramago.
Ubicada en el municipio de Tías, una visita ideal para los amantes de la literatura y la cultura, quienes gozarán con la posibilidad de efectuar una visita guiada a través de la casa del maravilloso escritor portugués, lugar donde residió los últimos 18 años de su vida, y al que el propio Saramago definía como una casa "hecha de libros".
La residencia cuenta con una galería, biblioteca, salón, dormitorio, cocina, jardín, sala de juntas y tienda de recuerdos:
La Galería:
A través de la galería se distribuyen las distintas dependencias de la casa, construida con materiales propios de la isla, incluyendo una alfombra de piedra volcánica muy apreciada por el gran autor portugués.
A lo largo de la galería podrás disfrutar de obras de arte de grandes pintores, dibujantes y grabadores portugueses como: David de Almeida, Rogério Ribeiro, Hogan, Graça Morais, Luís Pinto Coelho, entre otros.
Por otro lado, en la galería podrás contemplar una serie de muebles y objetos reunidos por el escritor, como una pequeña muestra de su colección de caballos, una estatua de un Cristo Yacente por la que Saramago sentía especial estima, e incluso un reloj marcado a las cuatro de la tarde, hora en que conoció a su esposa.
Biblioteca:
Se trata de un espacio muy acogedor plagado de libros. Presidida por un retrato José Saramago y su esposa autoría del checo Jiri Dokoupil.
La organización de sus libros corresponde a criterios personales y cuenta con obras de literatura universal, ensayos, memorias, libros de historia y obras de autores como Cervantes, Camoens, Pessoa y Drummond de Andrade entre otros.
La Sala de Juntas inicialmente tenía la intención de celebrar las reuniones de la dirección de la Fundación José Saramago, sin embargo, terminó siendo superada por su sede en Portugal.
Aquí sólo se celebró una reunión de la Fundación y algunas conferencias de prensa. Escritores como Claudio Magris y Vargas Llosa fueron los últimos huéspedes de esta habitación, por la que pasaron personalidades de todas las procedencias.
Salón:
Una habitación en la que se puede contemplar el mar y el jardín, el lugar de descanso preferido de Saramago. Sus paredes están decoradas por cuadros relacionados con las obras del escritor, y puede apreciarse una colección de cerámicas populares, de distintos siglos que fue adquiriendo el autor a lo largo de su vida.
Dormitorio:
Es el cuarto en el que falleció el 18 de junio de 2010. Un sencillo ambiente decorado por un dibujo de Rafael Alberti, algunos grabados libros y fotos que completan la habitación.
Cocina:
Un lugar por el que desfilaron las más increíbles personalidades, desde Bernardo Bertolucci, pasando por Juan Goytisolo, Carlos Fuentes, José Luis Sampedro, Carlos Reis, Eduardo Galeano, Marisa Paredes, Álvaro Siza Vieira, Ángeles Mastretta, Pedro Almodóvar y Susan Sontag, entre otros.
Jardín:
Con una extensa vegetación compuesta por palmeras, pinos canarios, un granado, membrilleros, un olmo, un alcornoque y fundamentalmente olivos portugueses y andaluces.
